GOAL
My vision for Tuscaloosa District 6 is a city that thrives from within, where we retain the talent produced by our colleges and universities and everyone, from the employees to our youngest residents, is valued.
EXPECTATION
I believe in a City Council that genuinely cares about all of Tuscaloosa, and I am running to be the District 6 representative who will prioritize building our district with a focus on unity, growth, and opportunity for all.
ISSUE
I care about addressing District 6 eroding infrastructure, creating a robust and thriving educational system, and reducing crime in youth violence in a way that holds parents accountable while offering them the support they need. We must build a system where families can seek help without fear of judgment or punitive consequences.
Lisa Young
As a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa, I have deep roots in our community and a strong desire to see it thrive. I was educated in Tuscaloosa city school system and earned my degrees from Shelton State Community College and the University of Alabama. I have dedicated my career to improving educational opportunities as an employee of both the University of Alabama and Athens State University. As a mother of three and grandmother of seven, I am committed to building a brighter future for our young people and ensuring a sustainable, comfortable lifestyle for our aging community.
Building a Brighter Future
I want to lead District 6 toward a safer, stronger, and more vibrant future – a future where we all work together to make our city the best it can be, and together, we can achieve it!
